Call for Proposals: 2014 Summit Seeks Submissions for Breakout Sessions

Apr 28, 2014

This year the Massachusetts STEM Summit is seeking contributions and input from the state’s diverse STEM community to develop breakout sessions that will supplement the Summit’s schedule.  A Call for Proposals was issued last week to educators, business professionals, and government officers currently on the event’s mailing list, asking for proposals that address the Summit’s topical strands: Early Education; K-12 Education; 2 Year Higher Education; 4 Year+ Higher Education; Out-of-School Time; Digital Education; Innovation/Entrepreneurship; Career Awareness & Workforce Development; and Research and Practice.

It was requested that submitted proposals ideally target one or more of the Goals described in Massachusetts STEM Plan 2.0: Student Interest; Student Achievement; Skilled Educators; Post-Secondary Persistence; and Workforce Alignment.

Proposals received in response to the Call will be reviewed by a sub-committee of the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council, which will submit its recommendations to the program planning teams. The deadline for submitting proposals is May 31, 2014, and results of the review process are expected to be announced no later than early July.
