MA State STEM Plan 2.0

Room: West Club: Atrium

Massachusetts developed its first state STEM Plan in 2010.  However, we want to consider and update our vision and goals continually to reflect economic and societal needs of the state — present and future. During this session, STEM Plan 2.0 will be shared and an overview of the vision, goals, and outcomes of the plan will be presented, including how this plan fits into the broader context of the national STEM movement. Session presenters will clearly articulate how version 2.0 of the plan was developed; how it will be used by the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council to promote alignment among education, government, and industry; and the impact we would like to see it have at different levels in the Pre-K through higher education and workforce STEM system. Two follow-up sessions will take place later in the day. One session will be about the implementation strategies we can use to meet the goals of the plan. The other session will be used to bring people from similar communities of interest together to discuss what the STEM Plan means for their work.
