Tufts CEEO: Fostering Foundational Skills Across Disciplines

Presented by: Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO)

This exhibit is relevant to educators in formal and informal education settings working with students K-12. The exhibit will include quick hands-on, engineering activities for visitors to try as well as samples of curricula developed as part of our in-house research projects. The activities will give visitors an idea of the types of projects that are done at workshops as well as the curriculum and training resources we provide to educators. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with our digital student engineering notebook Design Keeper as well as the all-new LEGO SPIKE Prime robotics gear, coded with SCRATCH.

Tufts University’s Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) work builds on students’ experiences and provides open-ended, hands-on engineering experiences for students, strengthening foundational skills while connecting to other disciplines and aligning with standards and 21stCentury Skills. Projects included in this exhibit will be Novel Engineering (www.novelengineering.org) and Community-Based Engineering (https://www.communityengineering.org/).
