Taking STEM Learning Outside: A Pipeline to Green STEM Careers

Presented by: Mass Audubon

Strand: K-12 Education

The objective of Mass Audubon’s Taking STEM Learning Outside: A Pipeline to Green STEM Careers is to demonstrate that the opportunities for engaging students and teachers in STEM learning and Green STEM Careers literally surrounds us in our natural environment. Further, when we engage students with STEM in the environment we open doors to new, innovative careers that will be required as we work to build a greener and more prosperous Massachusetts. We will share examples, resources, curriculum, and take-aways that demonstrate how K-12 teachers and community-based educators can find and utilize opportunities for STEM teaching and learning in their schoolyards, neighborhoods, and community, no matter where their school or center is located—rural, suburban or urban.
