Regional Invention Convention: Young Inventors’ Program, Academy of Applied Science
Presented by: Academy of Applied Science
Strand: K-12 Education
Young Inventors’ is a K-12 program of the Academy of Applied Science, an educational non-profit that administers STEM academic enrichment opportunities. We support hands-on experiential learning and academic competitions that challenge learners to think outside the box and do original research. We hope to engage with K-12 teachers and administrators at the MA STEM Summit who may want to explore offering the Young Inventors’ program curriculum as an in school or extended learning opportunity. Our programs spark creativity in young students, encourage the rising generation of teen mathematicians, scientists and engineers with recognition for their efforts, and provide scholarships and apprenticeships for high schoolers interested in pursuing careers in math, science, and technology. Over 70 schools in NH and MA participate in our program and send school winners to the Regional Invention Convention at Southern New Hampshire University. We also annually send regional winners to compete in the National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo at the U.S. Patent Offices in Washington, DC.
