Presented by: New England Head Start Regional Training and Technical Assistance Network/UMass Donahue Institute
This exhibit will present materials, resources, and approaches developed by and with the federal Office of Head Start for early educators and families to promote STEM education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
This exhibit will feature, among many other things:
- High Five Mathematize, which teaches math concepts through children's play and everyday experiences by bringing out the math in what they are doing
- In-service materials developed by the Head Start National Center on Development, Teaching and Learning which focus on fostering thinking skills and using the scientific method with young children
- I am Moving, I am Learning, an approach that promotes good health and preventing childhood obesity by teaching children and families about the physics and biology of their bodies and nutrition
This exhibit will also showcase materials and resources developed by Massachusetts Head Start early educators, including lesson plans which bring STEM learning into classrooms and homes.
