Mass Save Energy Education Programs

Presented by: Cape Light Compact

Strand: K-12 Education

Under the state’s Green Communities Act, Massachusetts utilities and Program Administrators have teamed up to form the statewide energy efficiency program collectively known as Mass Save. The statewide energy education working group of Mass Save Program Administrators have joined forces to cover the many diverse utility service territories to bring K-12 educators and their students resources to help educate with good STEM practices in mind. Over the course of the last 10 years, EverSource, Cape Light Compact, National Grid, Columbia Gas along with the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) have leveraged their financial resources to bring age appropriate energy science teacher workshops and in-school programs to education professionals throughout the state at no cost to their schools.

With the utilities/PAs collaborating with their service territory schools and with each other, we can reach many teachers with our vast science-based, state standards-aligned materials in our goal to help educate our youth moving forward to an energy literate society of critical and creative thinkers.
