Presented by: Project Lead The Way

Strand: K-12 Education

Explore the five available PLTW curricular programs: Launch for grades Pre-K-5, Gateway for grades 6-8, and three high school programs (Engineering, Computer Science, and Biomedical Science). Learn about the APB teaching and learning model for curriculum development that has broad applications for educators. View/try student activities such as the micro:bit , maneuvering a robot or identifying a human skull as male or female. Learn about the professional development opportunities available through Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), our partnership with Mass STEM Hub and online through the PLTW Learning Management System.
PLTWs curricular programs are aligned with the Common Core Standards for Mathematics and English Language Arts, NGSS, CSTA and other national standards. The curriculum nurtures curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM while promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, communication skills, teamwork and STEM career options. Courses are designed to complement math and science courses offered by a school, and in some instances are used as the core curriculum. The curriculum is collaboratively developed and consistently reviewed and improved by PLTW staff, teachers, university educators, industry experts and school administrators.
