Empowering Teachers Through Flexibility: Remixing Digital Content in the Classroom
Presented by: LabXchange, Harvard University
LabXchange, a free, online platform supported by Harvard University and the Amgen Foundation, allows students to engage with science through exploration, design, and problem-solving. On the platform, educators will find world-class content from a variety of sources, including videos, assessments, and other digital assets. LabXchange helps students develop their science practices by offering virtual experiments that allow them to perform biotech and molecular biology techniques that may be otherwise inaccessible. LabXchange also allows students to explore STEM trajectories and careers through our Stories in Science narratives.
During our exhibit, secondary school educators and students will explore LabXchange functionality first-hand by navigating platform resources from educator’s and student’s perspectives, including our CRISPR gene-editing and scientific method pre-lab pathways. During one-on-one sessions with our exhibit team, secondary school teachers will practice building their own differentiated pathways and learn how to navigate the educator dashboard functions, while students will try their hand at our micropipetting lab simulation.
